How Many Stem Cell Treatments Do You Need?

Stem cell therapies are one of the leading figures in the world of regenerative medicine. People all around the world are using their stem cell transplant to help with conditions such as arthritis, spinal conditions, injury recovery, and even aging.

What are stem cell injections, that they can do all this? They are nothing more than stem cells and a simple growth hormone to help kickstart those stem cells to put them to work ASAP within your system.

The reason why they are so effective is because of what a stem cell is.

So, what are stem cells, you may ask?

They are the master, blueprint, and cell that can become many other cells. This means that they can become other cells to regenerate and repair lost or damage cells in the body. Stem cells from bone marrow can become all kinds of blood cells, for example.

Thanks to their ability to become other cells and replace them when they are damaged, stem cells can help treat issues including:

  • Multiple sclerosis (MS)
  • Spine and disc conditions
  • Traumatic brain injuries
  • Autoimmune disease
  • Arthritis
  • And more

They are a natural treatment. This means that a stem cell transplant basically just increases the number of stem cells that you already have in your body to help boost your bodyโ€™s ability to regenerate and repair damage. Thatโ€™s it.

Itโ€™s for this reason that there are minimal side effects when you get a stem cell transplant. Itโ€™s also why the number of stem cell treatments depends on many different factors.

How many stem cell treatments do you need to finally take care of your condition? There are many factors at play, so letโ€™s dive in:

Understanding The Different Types of Stem Cells

If you run a quick search about stem cells and what theyโ€™ve done recently in the world of medicine, youโ€™ll come across many big, exciting headlines. Before you get too excited, however, itโ€™s important to note that those big claims are usually from clinical trials, which will use a different type of stem cell from the stem cells you can typically get either in a hospital, or even in a private clinic.

There are a few different types of stem cells. The first is embryonic, which are used solely in a research capacity. Then thereโ€™s induced pluripotent stem cells, which are embryonic-like adult cells and are showing big promise, but are currently far too cost-prohibitive even for the private market (think hundreds of thousands per treatment).

Then there are the adult cells. Adult cells can be sourced from bone marrow, soft tissue, blood, and so on. Here at Bioxcellerator we use stem cells taken from donated umbilical cords โ€“ specifically, the Whartonโ€™s Jelly that surrounds the umbilical cords.

We do this to increase your chances of accepting the cell treatments, since these cells donโ€™t have a surface protein, your immune system regularly checks for them when guarding against foreign bodies.

How Many Stem Cell Treatments Do You Need?

The amount of stem cell treatments you need will depend on your condition, your pre-existing health, your lifestyle, and even environmental factors.

In general, you should start to see results in one to three months. Sometimes results are obvious, for example if you have less pain or can move more without pain. Other times, they arenโ€™t as obvious. For example, if stem cell treatments are used to help repair blood cells, the โ€œresultโ€ may be fewer transfusions in the future.

Now, as to how many cell treatments you need, the answer is โ€œit dependsโ€.

  • Those with injuries, for example, may need just one treatment to get their healing back on track.
  • Those with chronic pain conditions may be better off with just one treatment, or they may need a second or third to continue to manage their condition and improve their quality of life.
  • Those with degenerative conditions will need an ongoing treatment plan in order to minimize and slow down their condition.

Since this regenerative medicine does take time to work, you wonโ€™t be getting a second or third round of treatment for a long time. You will need to ideally wait a minimum of a year before treatments.

Creating tracking points to help you understand how the treatment has impacted your health is also a good idea. This can be done by rating your pain from 1 to 10 at several points through the day, and then looking at the overall patterns over a year. It can be done by measuring your flexibility and mobility, and so on.

With this information, you can understand the value of your singular treatment, and make a decision for yourself if you want or need a second round of treatment. Tracking is so important, considering the stem cell therapy cost, as it helps you scientifically work out the value of the treatment for your individual health.
